Now, most motorhomes will come with a rear anti-sway bar from the factory. This is one of them. It comes with actually a pretty hefty anti-sway bar, but that comes from the factory before they put the motorhome on top of this chassis. This is a Ford F-53 chassis. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2018 Thor Hurricane. And we're gonna be taking a look at, I'mma show you how to install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. And when you have an RV something of this size, when you hit little bumps in the road, or a semi passes you on the road, or just any truck or trailer of any size, the feeling that you get when you're driving 60 or 70 miles an hour down the road is very, very unnerving. What'll happen is you'll feel that suction and the wheels will want to, the whole RV is wanting to follow the suction from that truck when it passes. Adding the steering stabilizer is gonna take some of that away. more

Adding a front anti-sway bar to your motor home is gonna help to add stability where your motor home is kind of weak from the factory. This kit will actually replace the factory anti-sway bar on the front. If you're adding one to the rear, which I highly recommend adding a Roadmaster anti-sway bar to the rear. If you're adding it to the rear, you're adding an additional sway bar. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster front sway bar on a 2015 Thor A.C.E. When it comes to upgrades for your RV, something that people don't necessarily think about that often until they've driven for a while is suspension and suspension enhancements and something with a large coach, something like this as you make a turn it feels top heavy and naturally it just wants to sway. Sometimes steering can be pretty numb feeling and that's not exactly a feeling you want while driving something this large. And especially when gusts of wind come and the vehicle sways side to side. Having that eliminated or close to eliminated is a great comforting feeling and a great way to do that is going to be upgrading your factory sway bar. Now this one is, looks to be almost about the same diameter as the factory one, but let me tell you as soon as you pick up this new one versus your old one you'll see the weight difference and that's really where it can hold up to the stress and weight of the RV. more

If you're looking for a more comfortable and controlled ride this summer, then check out the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar kit that we installed on our 2021 Thor Hurricane motorhome. Now the Roadmaster anti-sway bar kit is gonna work in conjunction with your factory rear anti-sway, that you already have installed. You don't remove that, you just add that to it on the backside of the axle. This is going to help you reduce the back and forth motion from swaying and crosswinds or when you're passing trucks on the highway. If you've driven one of these motorhomes, a Class A like this, you know they're very susceptible to the left and right motion as you go down the road. more

And this is what our replacement sway bar looks like when it's installed. This is gonna be a bigger, beefier sway bar over our factory one. It's gonna give us just an increase in its anti-sway properties by being stronger than the previous one. You also get new end links, which is pretty nice because if you're upgrading your motor home, this is one of the first things that goes bad on your sway bar in your factory one is the end links, they usually wear out on the ends there. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster rear sway bar on a 2018 Thor Windsport. Here, we have our sway bar installed and you can actually see we have this new sway bar but we also have our existing one because this doesn't replace the rear sway bar, it's in addition to. So really it's gonna just kinda beef up what this one can't handle and that's really gonna smooth a lot of things out, whether it be a quick turn you're gonna notice the difference, wind gust while you're driving on the highway, being on uneven road and just overall, you're not gonna have to white-knuckle as much. Sway bars really keep the vehicle balanced by using the weight of the vehicle and the offset of the suspension on the other side to counteract it and that way your vehicle's not tipping, 'cause as it tips, it actually pushes that pressure back on the other one and that's gonna keep you stable. Now, if you've driven in windy conditions on the highway or just kind of rough roads, you really are having to fight the wheel quite often, and that makes for an exhausting time while driving. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today, we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster Front Sway Bar on a 2018 Thor Wind Sport. Here, we have it installed. You can see, it mounts to our factory points, so it's an easy upgrade that you're gonna notice pretty quickly as soon as you make a turn. It uses new hardware but it uses all the existing mounting points, so there's no drilling, cutting or welding involved. So, here, we have our factory sway bar that we just removed and here's our Roadmaster which will be going on. And you can see right away that this has a larger diameter. more

And this is what our Steering Stabilizer looks like when it's installed. It clamps onto your tie rod, and it also attaches to the suspension, over here on the side, right under here, where it attaches to the axle. And this provides a dampening, as well as a spring resistance, that ensures that your steering wheel stays in the center. There could be a couple of reasons you're wanting to look for a new front sway bar. You could be getting a lot of body roll, maybe it doesn't have a front sway bar from the factory or it's just small and not quite big enough for your application. This is going to make a big difference when we're flat towing, maneuvering in tight locations or just going down the highway and having to make a quick lane change. We're going to notice a lot less body roll in our motor home, it's going to tighten it up a lot like our cars. more

This is what our steering stabilizer looks like when it's installed. It connects to the frame of the vehicle as well as to our tie rod here to help dampen any imperfections on the road. If we hit a pothole and it wants jerked the wheel to the left or to the right, our dampener here is going to absorb some of that impact. Hi there Thor owners. Today in your 2014, Thor Windsport, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Reflex Steering Stabilizer. And this is what our stabilizer looks like when it's installed. One side will attach to your axle using your existing U bolts and the other side will clamp around the tie rod that connects between the two wheels. The shock inside the assembly will act as a dampener. So any potholes and things that you hit that may jerk the wheel to one direction we'll minimize how much jerkiness you feel there due to that shock absorber inside. more

A motorhome steering is usually anything but tight. What that means is you're really going to have to fight that steering wheel as you're driving, trying to go straight down the road. With wind catching them, they tend to kind of wander and get blown all over the place, which in turn will lead you to over-correcting and having just to fight that wheel. And when you overcorrect like that too, what tends to happen is your motorhome tends to sway a little bit more and just make that ride a lot more uncomfortable. more

Adding the steering stabilizer onto your motor home, in my opinion is a must. I've traveled a lot in a different RVs, and driving without the steering stabilizer, and I've also driven with them. And you can definitely tell a difference. When you're driving without them, what tends to happen is you get a crosswind or maybe you're passing a tractor trailer, and the wind that comes in between them, what it does is because you're so big, it's pushing you over while you're having to fight the steering wheel to keep it centered in the lane. more

Today on our 2019 Thor Motor home, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster rear sway bar. Now, our motor homes are big squares that are known to be top heavy, which can be really difficult to drive straight down the road, especially on those windy days or on that bumpy terrain. Well, that's where the rear sway bars are going to come into play. It's going to help stiffen up that chassis and help eliminate that sway in the motor home, making it a lot easier to keep in a straight line and drive without worrying too much. Now, since the sway bar is in the back, it's really only going to help combat that sway here in the rear of the camper. What'll help offset that and do the same thing upfront, I'd recommend the Roadmaster front anti-sway bar.Let's go ahead and take our motor home on the test course. more

Today on our 2019 Thor motor home we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster front sway bar.Motor homes are big boxes that are very top heavy so when you're going down the road, they're known to catch a lot of wind and have a lot of body roll or sway. That's when the camper goes back and forth, and that can be very nerve wracking at times. And it's really inconvenient whenever you're trying to get to your destination and you have to be nervous and fight your steering wheel the whole way down just to keep you in a straight line.Overall, in my opinion, and upgrade well worth your time. That time is going to replenish itself by being able to ride comfortably on the road, arriving to your campsite or your destination energized, and not feeling exhausted from having to fight your motor home the whole way there.So with the addition of another front anti-sway bar, it's really going to help tighten up that chassis, reducing that sway and body roll, making it a lot easier to stay in a straight line.And one of the things I would recommend getting to work in conjunction with that front sway bar is a steering stabilizer. Now, what that's going to do is help tighten up your steering wheel and help return it to center that way it makes it even easier to keep your motor home in a straight line.Now let's go ahead and take our motor home on the test course. I've got to first start by going over our bumps to see how it does. more

After you've got it installed, once you get on the road, you can notice the difference immediately. It's going to help provide a safer ride by reducing the amount of sway when going down the road. So, if you've got wind hitting the side of your RV, it'll help stop that rocking motion and minimize it, making it easy for you to maintain control of the vehicle. Today on our 2018 Thor Ace Motor-home, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road Master Rear Anti-Sway Bar, Part Number RM-1139-146.Having a motor-home can be a very nice thing, but one thing that no one really talks about is how difficult they can be to drive, and how much swaying they get, and kind of that body roll. Especially when driving on the highway, a big crosswind comes by and starts pushing us around. Let's face it, there's a lot of area for that wind to catch, that's where our Road Master Rear Anti-Sway Bar is gonna come into play. It's gonna reduce the amount that we're gonna have to fight the steering wheel back and forth, which in then turn we can relax a little bit, and have more confidence when we're driving down the road.So, here's what our sway bar looks like once we have it installed. The sway bar itself is going to be an inch and a half in diameter, so it isn't a rather large bar, and it's going to be made out of 41/41 chromoly, so it is gonna be very rigid and stiff. Since our new Road Master sway bar is not going to replace our factory sway bar, it's going to help support it. more

Today on our 2018 Thor Ace Motor Home, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Road Master Front Anti-Sway Bar, part number RM-1139-140. Having a motor home can be great, but one thing that nobody seems to talk about is how difficult they can be to drive sometimes. Because let's face it, we have a large area for wind to catch, they can start pushing us around when we're driving down the road. Which can be a little spooky for some people, and not that enjoyable. For our Road Master Anti-Sway Bar, it's gonna do for side-to-side movement what a good set of shocks would do for the up and down. Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer Installation - 2017 Thor Chateau Motorhome- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Thor Chateaux, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's Reflex Steering Stabilizer, part number RM-RBK24-RSSC. This is what our steering stabilizer is going to look like when it's installed. As you can see, it's much more robust than our original, and it has a coil spring to help assist returning it to center. The biggest difference that sets this one apart from the others is the coil spring. When the coil spring is compressed, it's going to want to uncompress itself, returning it to center, and when it's extended, it's going to want to retract, again bringing it back to center. This will help keep you in a neutral position when driving down the road. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 A.C.E. Thor Motor Coach on the Ford F-53 chassis, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar, part number 113-144. We will also be using the extended U-bolt kit for Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars, part number RM-590050-00. This kit is going to come with a 1 3/4 inch diameter sway bar. It's designed to improve the handling of your vehicle by reducing body roll and balancing the weight transfer during cornering. It's going to come with all necessary hardware to get it installed.To begin our installation, what we're going to be doing is we're going to be taking this plate off and we're going to be replacing these U-bolts. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Thor Challenger on a Ford F-53 chassis we'll be having a look at and installing the Roadmaster front anti-sway bar, part number RM-1139-140. Here's what our sway bar looks like installed. As you can see, it is a direct replacement for the factory sway bar. It is substantially thicker and a lot more durable, with a lot less flexibility than the factory sway bar, giving us a smoother and safer ride as we're traveling down the road. Now because this sway bar has a lot less flexibility, what that allows us to do is better transfer weight side to side on our RV, hoping to eliminate that body roll which gives us that feeling that we're about ready to tip over as we're doing maneuvers in parking lots, going around windy mountain roads, or fighting the wind as we're traveling down the interstate.Now what sets this sway bar apart from others on the market is the fact that that is a very cost-effective solution because we do get to reutilize some of our factory components, such as our end links here. This makes it a cheaper solution for us. more

Here's what our sway bar looks like installed. This is not a replacement sway bar. It works in addition to our factory sway bar to help greatly improve our vehicle's handling abilities while reducing body roll, providing us a smoother and safer ride.Now the main reason you're going to want an additional sway bar on your motor home is because motor homes traditionally aren't known for having great handling, especially when you're driving down the highway and there's a crosswind going across the highway. The wind will cause the RV to want to roll over to one side. It makes for an uncomfortable while you're fighting the steering wheel dealing with the crosswinds. more

Here's what our steering stabilizer looks like fully installed, it's going to replace our factory stabilizer, and it's going to help maintain the vehicle tracking down center, and help correct over-steering.Now, there is a variety of things that can make your vehicle veer, whether it be crosswinds, uneven pavement, or even a tire blowout, the key to a pleasant and safe driving experience is learning how to deal with these situations. Now, our steering stabilizer is going to work to return the vehicle to the center when something happens that causes it to swerve or jolt. The steel spring is going to be working constantly to help maintain the vehicle going in a forward neutral position. When it's compressed, the spring is going to push back out, and when the spring is extended, it's going to be pulling back in.Now, whether you're upgrading from your factory one, or replacing it, it's definitely going to have a lot more tension than our factory stabilizer here. Our stabilizer's going to mount directly to the frame, and on the other end it's going to connect to our tie rod. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Thor Chateau we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Blue Ox Tiger Trak Rear Axle Stabilizer for Motor Homes, part number TT2450.Now when we're driving our motor home down the road, we've all had that situation where we drove into a rut or a huge gust of wind came by, and the rear end started swaying. Now that's where our track bar is going to come in and help us out. Here's what our track bar looks like fully installed. It's going to mount in between the axle and the frame itself, and help support the axle and prevent any side to side movement without losing any up and down travel. Now this is also going to help minimize driver fatigue because it's going to minimize the effort that we have to put in to keep our vehicle in a straight line.Now our track bar and brackets are all made of a high strength alloy steel for extra durability. As you can see here, we just have a few brackets that are going to mount to the frame, and then our track bar is going to mount to that. more

Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 2015 Thor Challenger Motorhome- Video
Today on our 2015 Thor Challenger Ford F-53 Chassis Motorhome we'll be installing the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar, part number 1139-144. Driving a motorhome in the wind isn't a lot of fun, because the wind will push the motorhome side to side. This will help reduce that and make it easier for us to arrive at our destination safely and not worn out. This bar is an inch and 3/4 in diameter. By being that thick it will greatly reduce our body roll going into corners, it'll increase our stability, and help prevent driver fatigue. This bar is constructed of a cadmium plated 4140 chromoly steel. more

Today on our 2015 Thor Challenger Ford F53 chassis we'll be installing the Roadmaster front anti-sway bar, Part Number RM-1139-140. Here's what our sway bar kit consists of. Obviously we have our new sway bar here. This sway bar is constructed of a thick cadmium-plated 4140 chrome alloy steel. It's a lot thicker than the factory sway bar and a lot more durable. We have our new polyurethane sway bar bushings and two new brackets. We also have some grease to lube our bushings for when we install the sway bar. more
